Description
Lycurgus, a character from "The Besieged". (Some inspiration taken from the victorian story "Hughes, the wer-wulf")
This was one of those things that's almost exactly a 50/50 mix of traditional/digital. After taking ages (really was quite a long time) to decide, I put it in Digital- since I've gone over pretty much everything with some tool or another. I like my new technique for doing metal . This is slightly shinier than usual though, since most of that would be silver.
Armour etc. was interesting to draw- since I doubt anybody would acutally make weapons and armour for werewolves, most of it would be scavenged. That sword-shield was fun to sketch . I havn't quite decided whether Lycurgus is left or right handed- he has slightly more armour on the left (suggesting that side faces any pointy things), but then again, it would take quite a lot of control to use that shield. Doesn't really matter anyway- just something I suddenly thought of.
ps. Any ideas for a caption? I was thinking "Ave, Ceasar!" Looks sort of Roman for some reason. I think it's the boss on the knight's shield there.
Note: Weird wobbly gauntlet things are supposed to be swords/knives bent into shape as armour, but it was virtually impossible to get that much detail in. Woah! Long description!
